Kitty sprouted wings, another kitty in the wings

Less than a month after I posted an upbeat blog about Kitty (4/19), I let him outdoors one early morning...and that was the last time we ever saw Kitty.  We have no idea what his fate was, but assume that he has gone on to kitty heaven, given his advanced age.  Judy even suggested that maybe he was translated.

Fast forward to about two weeks ago, when we had a sad looking bob-tailed kitty approach our house.  Judy took mercy on the poor animal and gave her some of Kitty's cat food.  As Judy puts it, this kitty quickly adopted us, rather than the other way around, and at this point, appears to be a permanent fixture at our home.  There are two things this kitty needs.  One is a name (Lori suggested Bobby Sue, considering where we are moving to).  The other is for this kitty to get spayed before we become the owners of not just one, but a whole litter.

On another topic, I took the time to consolidate the labels used in all previous blogs, replacing all single-entry labels with more comprehensive labels that are displayed in their entirety on the home page of my blog.  It took most of the afternoon to do boil the number down to about 50 labels.  I've been wanting to do it for some time, and finally got around to it

Kitty...still alive and well

"Kitty," brought home as a little male kitten for our children 17 years ago, is the only animal that remains from an earlier era, when we had several animals in the home. He is still a welcome sight when we come home from work, even though he can be annoying at times.

New addition at our house

The Mangels family, a family in our congregation, had a cute little dog show up at their house a little over a week ago. Judy visited them, was introduced to this dog, and learned of the family's efforts to find its owner, and short of that, someone who might be interested in taking the dog. Judy fell for the cute little dog. With Nikki gone, and Kitty showing signs of his age catching up with him as well, we decided to bring him home. We also made an effort to find the rightful owner. We have had the dog since Sunday, and it is beginning to look more and more like we will permanently keep this dog. It's about the same size as Nikki. While we are not 100% certain, we believe this dog is a yorkipoo, which is perhaps the most common of terms used for a hybrid between a yorkshire terrier (yorki) and a poodle. Our new addition is about 18 months old (according to a vet assistant who looked him over).

He needs a name. So you are welcome to weigh in, after looking at his picture. The dog has a black back, and his belly and legs are solid brown. The thing I like most about this dog, especially compared to Nikki, is that this dog is very quiet. As a watch dog, I guess this isn't a good thing, but for peace in the house, it is great.
